I apologize for the confusion, Millie. The surname of the Ragins in my family tree is spelled RAGIN. When I write about Ragins [with an s on the end], I am speaking of the family as a whole.

I tried to e-mail you, but am unable to do do. The screen only shows that your e-mail address is 'hidden'.

My research started with Moutrene [correct spelling I have found] Ragin who married Johnnie F Patterson. Both are now deceased. They lived in New York, but my research on Moutrene led me back to South Carolina. I then discovered the link to the Liberty Hill A.M.E. church.

I have had to backtrack somewhat because I discovered the information I had gathered about John Ragin [Moutrene Ragin's father] may not be about him.

Part of the problem I am finding is the commonness of certain surnames within that South Carolina community. If you want me to provide you with more detail, please ask.

Since my research is based on information obtained from public records, I do not have a problem sharing what I may find.

I am looking forward to hearing from you. Spivey
