I am a descendant of the Ragin family and let me tell you that it will be very hard to find records on the family from Summerton. Let me explain my grandfather was born we think Nov 6 or 13 1918 but we aren't certain.. he wasn't even certain and that's because back then the midwife recorded the birth and it was usually keep in a bible or something. They were rarely filed. What I do know that if you find more family back from that time frame you can connect the dots. The only living uncle I still have that was born close enough to remember lives in NYC and his name is June Ragin he has a son we call Junnie. I can call and try to find out more for you.. let me know.
