Belva,I pretty much got this nailed down.Their Names were Isom Rabun& Caroline George,The story I told you about The wife & kids died with the measles is true!!!the only ones that survived were Grandpa Newton,Joseph marion & Jesse J.I found where Isom is buried in a Civil war cemetery in Atlanta Ga.They have his name spelled :
Isham Rabun
Ala.Inf.CSA
3-13-1862
This is definitely our Isom,They just spelled his name wrong. He enlisted in Goshen,Alabama,Jan.13,1862 went to Tennessee there his wife caught the measles and he died from them too.If you need me to be more specific I'll try but this has been researched not only by me but other Raburn researchers as well. I have his Military file and they confirmed that this is the same man.Larry
