My gggrandfather was Robert Andrew Raiford, Sr., son of Philip Raiford and Elizabeth Daniel of Edgefield County, SC. The had a son named John D. Raiford, Robert's older brother. John married Sarah Watson. That's all that I know about John and Sarah, but I think that John was my great great uncle.
Philip and Elizabeth ahd the following chilldren:
Philip (I have nothing on him)
William D. m. Elizabeth Lark. They moved to Marshall Co., MS in time for the 1840 census
John D. m. Sarah Watson
Nancy m. ? Burt
Thomas Woodward m. Sarah Caroline Barbee. They also moved to Marshall Co., MS bef. 1840)
Robert Andrew, Sr. m. Margaret Bryan Wyche of Thomas Co., GA in 1834 (Marshall Co. bef 1840)
James M. Raiford m. ? Black (Marshall Co. bef 1840)
Malachi m. Patience Wyche 1836 (Marshall Co. bef 1840)
Elizabeth m. ? (Marshall Co. bef 1840)
I have William D. and Thomas down into the middle 1950s, nothing on Elizabeth except that she is said to have married a John Wimberly of Holly Springs, MS. On Malachi and Patience, I have only the birth of twin boys to them in 1845. A Malachi descendant has a daughter named Susan (I think). It appears from her notes that Malachi died and Patience remarried and moved to Arkansas. Nothing on James. My line through Robert Andrew, Sr. is complete down through the present.
