Dear Fred: Our clan seems to grow apace. Raleys have been in America since the 17th century. There was an Andrew Railey in the Jamestown settlement in 1623-24. Just recently I had correspondence with Monsieur Pierre Raley of Dijon, France. He doesn't know when or how the Raleys ended up in France, but he does have information of an ancestor born in 1780's who fought in the Napoleonic Wars. His daughter is compiling a book on the Raley family--worldwide I presume.
I have written a short history of my branch of the family. You may have a copy if interested. Regards, Harold Raley
