I happen to think about my Round Top Book last night. I opened it and there was aunt Gert's wedding picture. I do have pictures of the Powell family and one of Gr. Grandma X2 Rebecca Raley. Did you tell me that someone sent it to you. If not I will send it to you.
Uncle Newt told me that when he was a boy he would spend the night with Grandma Rebecca and that she smoked a tiny pipe. He said she would go to her fire place and get it off of the mantle and takle a few puffs and she would dump it and put it away till the next day. He said she was a small woman
Has Wilma sent you any pictures? She has some family pictures. I would love to have a copy of William's picture.
I got all of Grandma's pictures. She gave them to Mama and aunt Mary came and went though them and carried lots of them home with her. She may have some Raley picture's. She wouldn't let anyone have any. She has hardening of the arteries. Her daughter will if she can find them. I am going to tell her to check and see if Mary has any old pictures. I am sure Grandma had pictures of her family other than her Grandmother.
I sure do miss uncle Newt. He was a good man. Uncle Sherman has hardening of the ateries too. Uncle Sherman build a two story colonial house on the left just before you get to where Grandma Powell lived. It is a beautiful home. J. N. lived where Grandma's house used to sit. He had a two story colonial too.
Sherman left the mountian many years ago.
Did you ever know my brother Tom Drake? He is the former Speaker of the House of Representative's.I think he was House Speaker in 1984-1988. Mama is the oldest of the Powell children.
My address is Frances D. Allred ,1405 5th. ave. S.W. Decatur, Al. 35601.
I am going to Office Depot early next week to do some pictures. I will make you some copies.
Let me know if you have the Round Top book . If you don't I will scan pages for you.
God Bless, Frances P.S. I have the Decatur Heritage book with some Raley information too. I will scan that for you.
