I posted the information on Henry and Frances Raley based on an old family letter that stated that Frances married a Raley (no first name given) and later moved to TX. According to the letter, nothing was heard from her after that.

I have no information other than the 1880 Tallapoosa census to possibly tie my Frances (Nave) to Henry Raley. The birth date is within her range and I could find no other Raley married to a Frances in AL.

Looks like your Charles Raley/Railey could be related to the Henry Raley found in 1880 Talapoosa AL census. They were both born in GA. I doubt that Charles would have been the son of my Frances (Nave) because Frances was found still living with her parents in DeKalb AL in 1860. I have not been able to find her as Nave or Raley in 1870 census.

In the 1880 Tallapoosa census, Henry and Frances Raley have a son, Charles, 8 yrs. old. He could possibly have been named for your Charles and is another indication of a possible family connection.

I would be interested in any other information you have on your Charles Raley/Railey. Parents, etc. Do you have any family connection to Cherokee or DeKalb, AL or TX?

Lola
