Perhpas you can help. My family is from St. Mary's Co. MD and there are a bunch of Raley's there that I am also related to, so maybe this is a good place to start.

Some of my MD family got land grants in SC starting 1784 and are connected to a man named Owen Riley or Raley and a Bell family and my family is "Banner."

Here is something from a website online on a man named Solomon Owens:

H-84 Benjamin Banner to WILLIAM OWENS, 16 May 1812, land granted Peter Bamer 1793, bound said OWENS, Owen Riley, estate of Bele. wit: Owens Riley, Benja Allen. Ann Banner dower.
*This Benjamin Banner is my family. He was s/o Peter Banner and Elizabeth Wood (of St. Mary' Co MD who moved to Barnwell (Orangeburg) SC with land grants starting 1784.

The "Bele" is either BELL or BEALL and probably also conneced to MD or VA then to SC.

Have you seen this record before and if so, do you know who these people are. I do know Ann Banner was a Davis and
Benjamin Banner and Ann Davis were married in 1797 IN St. Mary's Co. MD. His father Peter Banner died in 1799/1800 in Barnwell Sc.

Thanks for any help. My line is SUITE/SUIT in MD, but there was a William SUIT in Abbeville SC in 1790 who is probably also somehow connected.

Riley, Owen, 1 and 10 CL. (Virginian)

Banner, Peter, Va. Battalion.
