Hi Victoria,
I hope this may be of interest and use to you. My greatgrandmother was a Manuela Rivero de Ramirez y Ferari. Her brother, Angel, was the Commander of the small fort cal San Cristobal and was the man who ordered the first volley against the US during the Spanish-American War. She told my grandmother and mother stories of the naval bombardment of old San Juan. We lived in Santurce. Originally from Spain and the Canary islands.
