Thanks for your reply! It looks like if there is a link, it must be a distant one. My family is from Jalisco, which is much farther south than Sonora. The Ramirez - Baron combination seemed to be quite a coincidence, especially considering that Baron is not too common of a surname in Mexico, so I was hoping you would be telling me that your family came from Jalisco as well.

If you can, do a little more digging to see if you have any Jalisco roots. Otherwise, we are probably just very, very distant cousins, at best :-) Thanks again!
