William Randal married Sarah Weeks on Feb 14, 1786 on Onslow County, N.C. However, this particular Sarah Weeks was the widow of Thomas Weeks, and was the daughter of Thomas Johnston and Rebecca Woodhouse of Onslow County. Sarah Weeks is listed as a widow on her marriage bond with William Randal, and Thomas Johnston and Thomas Orrell posted bond. In his will probated in Onslow in April, 1805, Thomas Johnston left his "son-in-law, William Randall five shillings currrent money to him and his heirs and assigns forever." Sarah is not mentioned, so can be presumed dead. William Randal and Jonas Johnston served as executors of the will of his father, Alexander Randal, in 1768 in the Dobbs/Edgecombe County, N.C. area. Jonas was married to William's sister, Mary Randal. The William Randal who served in the war of 1812 is most likely the son of William or his brother Alexander, as William, Sr. would have been too old to serve at that time. I hope this helps you narrow your search.
