I am a Rangeley descendant on my mothers side. I have managed to trace my line to Joshua Rangeley married in 1751 in Ashton-U-Lyne Lancashire. This town is about 15 miles from leeds Joshuas occupation was a carpenter. He later moved his family to Hayfield in Derbyshire and his descendant can be seen on the 1881 census and the 1841 census provided on-line by the Derbyshire family history society. I am at present trying to link Joshua into Yorkshire Rangeleys where the family name seems to have originated. By the way I live in Manchester not far from leeds.
