Hey Carol,

I think my Aunt Maxine sent you a message regarding our family. I was doing some research myself and found out that a lot of our family are in the Indiana (Ransburg Auditorium-Uni. Of Bloomington, Indiana), Detroit and Mid-Western parts of the country. I've recently learned that David Ransburg is the Major of Periora, IL. What threw me off was that he was White. Our family is (In Kansas City, Mo.) African-American. I found out he was the major only because I got pulled over on my way up to Chicago from Kansas City and the officer noticed my last name and let me pass with a warning stating he was good friends with the major. I've had the chance to get in contacts with the major's staff and was told that the Ransburg family never owned slaves and that we are all or could be direct decendants of the first families of Ransburgs (Ransburgh) who arrive in American in the Mid- 1800's. If you have anymore info on our family you can e-mail me at

Phillip T. Ransburg
