Margaret Elizabeth Kittrell, spouse of James P. Ransdell, appears to be a gggrandchild of Jonathan Kittrell, who flourished in the first half of the eighteenth century in northeastern North Carolina and appears to be the ancestor of the majority of American Kittrells of European descent.
There is a current theory of where this lady fits in our tree but like many early placements, this has a speculative aspect, more here than in some.Jonathan however is certain to be her ancestor with little doubt at all if her name is Kittrell, living at that time in North Carolina or Tennessee, some of the areas where there were no known others of the name Kittrells or similar sounding names.
All Jonathan's descendants and their spouses are welcome to our private site by so requesting in an e-mail including the branch of the Kittrells to which they belong. An invite link is necessary to access the free but highly private Kittrells of America genealogical site.
One of our members, South Carolina Chief Administrative Law Judge Marvin F. "Buddy" Kittrell is working on a Kittrell family book and is over 90% done, but we would welcome additions where possible.
We currently have a posted private tree of some six generations after Jonathan Kittrell exceeding 8,600 potential descendants and spouses and a non-posted unabridged tree with six more generations exceeding 26,000 potential spouses and descendants. All need more documentation but all are posted in good faith.
