Correction: and still looking for help.
A Mr. Forsythe was the American Consul at Niagara 1812-1819. He had a daughter, Phoebe that married the "Commissioner of Indian Affairs" at Niagara (and probably Canadian), by the name of Rapp. He died with no issue and she married, probably in Eastern Ontario, a Dr. Stuart, who after the birth of Eliza Jane Stuart, (b1827-d1889 and my gt grandmother), also died. Phoebe married again to a Fetterly, but her daughter Eliza is suspected to have been "adopted" by William Cairns(Kerns). What is factually known is that the marriage records for 4 of Eliza Jane's 8 children indicate the maiden name of their mother to be; 1871 Stuart; 1875 Kerns; 1877 Rapp; and 1893 Rapp.
My cousin and historian says Phoebe Forsythe was the, "merrying kind". I am just starting to check Forsythe, etc.
Is there a record of a Forsyth- Rapp marriage ? (1800-1830)
Any input or comment would be appreciated.
