You may already know that the General Rapp who served under Napoleon has his name posted throughout Paris.
There is a Hotel Rapp, Rue Rapp, Avenue de Rapp, Quai (sp) Rapp all on the left bank not too far from the Eifel tower. Most famous of all is that the Rapp name is listed on the inside of the Arc de Triomphe, a place of tremendous French military honor. Its inscribed on one of the inner legs, I think on the NE side of the monument about half way up. In addition there is a statue of the General in his home town which is out near the Alsace region. I lived in Paris for several years and was pleased to find the family name so spread around, i forget the name of the town (again its been a while).
Happy hunting for more info
