"Rachford" is clearly related to "Ratchford" and could merely represent one branch (or part of a branch) choosing or (having chosen for them) a different spelling due to one of a variety of reasons. On this forum you will find several (currently) distinct Ratchford and Rachford families including one in the Carolinas (and possibly from PA and New England, one in Pennsylvania (with possible New England predecessors) and one or more different Ratchford family immigrants to eastern Canada. The name Rachford appears in some of these locations as well (so it may have originated by American spellings). However all Ratchfords, Rachfords and Wrachfords may find that there is a single source for the name for which only one household adopted.
It is doubtful that Wrachford could have any other method of origin different than the names "Rachford" or "Ratchford" could have, which appears to be only one source for both names in the old country what ever its full basis is and wherever the original old country of origin is.
Having said all this, I have not ever seen the name "Wrachford" until your message. And having said all this, it still requires someone to document your line to see that it does go back to the times when spellings were at best a blurry notion and includes lines of descent with one of the other spellings.
Does anyone out there definitively know the answer to either question? What is the earliest European documentation of the name "Ratchford", "Rachford", "Wrachford" or even "Ratford" (if it can be traced forward to one of the other spellings) or some similar spelling known and available?
