Brigitte, There are several branches of the Rauschenberg family both in Germany and in the US and I have sent you some contact information via e-mail.The branches probably started out together far back in history, but diverged a century or so ago.Just guessing of course, but I think there are people working on this line in Germany as well.
In the US, the branch that came here first settled in the Atlanta, Georgia area in the 1860s I believe, and my husband's branch came later to Chicago, Illinois.I'm not an expert on this line by any means though so don't take my information as fact.Just my observation over the last couple of years.
I hope someone else who is better informed will reply to your query.Thanks for posting here.What is your direct connection, have you traced them far yet? Have they moved about?
