I'm also seeking Chippewa County, WI ancestors whose surname is sometimes spelled RAUSCHER. On various documents, it has also been spelled RANGKER, RAUAGHER, RAUECKER and the spelling I lean toward: RANECKER.

John RANECKER was b. 1809 in Regensburg, Bavaria, d. 1925 in Edson, Chippewa, WI. His father: Martin RANECKER; his mother: Maria ----.

After he came to the U.S. (not sure when) he settled in Edson, Chippewa, WI. His wife was listed as Anna Maria (aka "Mary") ---- (possibly SIPMANER), a woman who appears from family photos to be Native American.

Children: Theresia (1847-1930), who married a BOEHLER; Sabina (abt 1852-?), who married an EDERER; Francesca (abt. 1844-?) who married a LEITH. Other RANECKER children: Engbert, Odin, Martin, Gora, Elenore, Tina, Ellen, Anna and Irene.

Let me know if any of this sounds promising to you...
