YOUNG LADY BURNED by CAMPHENE -- Miss Margaret RAWLE, a young lady of 17, of good social position and a general favorite, was burned to death at Volcano on the 2d inst. She was kindling a fire with camphene when she spilled some on her dress and in a moment she was in a blaze. The 'Amador Ledger' says the funeral of Maggie RAWLE was an occasion of deep solemnity. The people of Volcano -- people from all parts of the county -- were in attendance. There were 12 pall-bearers. 14 young ladies, belonging to the circle of the deceased, followed -- dressed in white and wearing black veils. About 100 of the ladies of
Volcano and surrounding villages were next in the
procession, while the citizens en masse completed the cortege. Stores were close, business was suspended, the people were in mourning.
