I am looking for any information on an Austin and Jane (wife) Rayment of England, parents of Charles H. Rayment, born in 1847 in England. Charles immigrated to America around 1875, coming into the NY. port, but moving to Worcester Co., Mass., by his marriage in 1877. His marriage record names his parents as Austin & Jane Rayment and the 1880 census showed both his parents were born in England, as was he.
I found an Austin Rayment listed on the 1871 England census, but I don't have access to that database on If someone does, I'd sure appreciate if they woud share the details with me. I only have access to all the US records.
Also, found a free database of deaths in England showing an Austin Rayment, born c1804 died in St. Austell Dist. of Cornwall County in 1879. Also found a Richard Austin Rayment born in the Truro Dist. of Cornwall in 1871. I suspect he was a likely grandson of the elder Austin?
Appreciate any information anyone might have on this Austin Rayment and his wife Jane, and the children they had, especially regarding Charles H. Rayment.
Charles Rayment's name is found on an ship's mainfest in 1875 on a ship named "Italy", and his birthyear is c1848. He is traveling with a Franca (Frank?) Rayment, and our Charles did later name his oldest son, "Frank Henry Rayment", a second son named Albert E. Rayment.
I suspect this is our Charles, and the man "Franca" his brother as Franca's age was c1845, just a few years older than he. This ship's port of departure was London, England.
However there was also another Charles Rayment, who immigrated in 1873 out of Liverpool England and Queenstown, Ireland, on the ship "Atlantic" and his age is a good fit as well, as he is shown born c1847.
This is all I have. Thanks to anyone and all, for any help on this Rayment family in England.
