I have replied to Betty's message this morning.

My GGGG-grandmother was Mary Ready, born 1809/10, Mendlesham, Suffolk, England. I believe that Sarah - George's mother - was Mary's neice.

Sarah age 21 and George age 1 are listed in the 1851 census index for Hartismere, on the same fiche as members of my family. I found the baptism record for George William Ready 25th Dec 1849, illegitimate son of Sarah Ready, singlewoman in Mendlesham Parish Records.

Sarah Ready married Thomas Scarfe 19th Nov 1854. Thomas's father was John, Sarah's was 'stated to be unknown'. Witnesses were Robert Scarfe, Mary Ann Scarfe, Zephaniah Chapman & Charlotte Battley (my GGG-Aunt, and Mary Ready's daughter).

This is all I have, although I would like information relating to the Ready's if you have anything?

Thanks

Marie
