First, I do not have the positive answer you're looking for at the moment. However, we do have one possibility for the parents of Lucy Reep (information from the Reep Family Association data base and the 1978 book published by Jacob E. and Lewis J. Reep, titled: Reep Family History, North Carolina).
We have a John P. Reep, born about 1867, who was married in Lincoln County, NC on 17 May 1891 to Barbara Bengle, born about 1866. John and Barbara had at least three children: Lucy Reep, Carrie Reep, and John Reep.
If you are successful in determining the parents for Lucy, we would be most interested in hearing from you so we can add your family to our data base.. In addition, once you determine Lucy's parents, you can probably trace your lineage in Jacob and Lewis' book back to Adolph Reep, the currently known progenitor of the North Carolina Reep family.
At the time of the 1978 printing of their book, Jacob and Lewis had tried to obtain information from many people and sources. Some responded to the inquiries, while others did not. For that reason, many folks who did not respond, were not included in the 1978 book. In addition, many family lines were simply unknown at the time of printing. Jacob and I are in the process of revising the original 1978 printing to update the book. This book will include some corrections and many additions.
Hope this helps some. Keep in touch. James W. Reep
