Hi Jan,
I believe I'm the one that should be apologizing. I believe one of my last messages delayed any response from me because of moving. In any event...
Current research has the progenitor of the Butler County, PA, branch of the Reep Family Association as Leonard Reep. He was married to a Barbara (surname not yet known, despite years of research by a number of folks).
One of their son's was Isaac Reep (Sr.) (b. Abt. 1760 in Eastern PA)(d. Abt. 1828 in what is today Fairview, Butler County, PA). He married a Miss Bash. To date, we have not discovered her given name, despite extensive efforts.
Isaac (Sr.) and Miss Bash had seven children, one of whom was Isaac Reep (Jr.)(b. 1787)(d. 2 Jul 1863), who married Mary Jane Pontius in about 1807.
Isaac (Sr.) and Miss Bash had another son Jacob Reep (b. 04 Jan 1788)(d. 6 Apr 1850).
Jacob of Trumbull and Isaac (Jr.)(wife, Pontius) were brothers. So the parents you are looking for are Isaac Reep (Sr.) and his wife ____ Bash.
In addition, Jacob Reep who died in Niles, Trumbull County, Ohio, was married twice. This Jacob first married a Sarah Courtright (or other spelling variations). They had at least a Mary Reep, John Reep, and another daughter. Jacob then married Sarah Allison on 20 Jan 1825 in Columbiana County, OH, and they had seven children.
Hope this helps.
By the way, I have noticed your messages scattered around the message boards and admire your persistent efforts on the Allisons (and Reeps).
Jim Reep
