Danielle, I would am curious to learn more about your Reap ancestry. You may see another post from me on this forum in reponse to two older posts which named Reap, Shofner and Thompson families. The reason for my curiosity about your Reap family is that in recent years I learned that my immigrant ancestor who in some records had been recorded as "Peter Reape" and also as "Peter Reap" did have one brother Gustavus who had become known in North Carolina as "Augustus Reap." Two younger brothers also showed up in Pennsylvania records in the year of 1761. One was Michael who at first joined his elder brother Gustavus who had lived on and then filed claim for land in Northampton County. Secondly, a brother Nicolaus Reeb evidently may have lived with his oldest brother Peter Reeb in the city of Philadelphia. Nicolaus was married to a lady who was also from the same region of Europe and lived close to the village where my Reeb ancestors lived. Her maiden name was Mueller. Nicolaus had at least three sons born and bapitized in St. Michael's Lutheran Church in Philadelphia. I have found no living descendants of this time nor any continuing records which I can prove pertain to the sons of Nicolaus Reeb. Considering the spelling which the name was anglicized to in American records for his elder brothers, I would expect Nicolaus descendants to bear the name name of REAP, REAPE, or even Rape. The German double "e" is correctly pronounced as "A" and the B in German can be innerchangable with P.
