Hello Peconic, after doing some looking into the origin of the name Rechow, I belive that it is originating from the Isleali town of Jericho. In looking for clues in the new world, there are several references to the name of Rechow in Isreal. Jericho's literal meaning is 'its moon'. Jerico was conquered by the Israelites when entering the promised land of Canaan. My best reference for this is Stong's concordance.Good luck with your research.

Jeanie
