Hi Onessa, I think we are related, Your grandmother, Birdie and my g'mtr, Mayme (Allie May) are sisters.I have a little bit of information on the Redd's and have just started on the Redd family genealogy.I have a copy of a letter from Rebecca Redd Roane of Houston Tx from 1994 that is addressed to Aunt Birdie that gives some information. It shows that Rueben was born 1830 in Georgia and married Nancy Inglet March 4, 1852 in Macon County Alabama. Nancy is buried in Muldoon,Tx in Pitcairn Cemetary, she died Feb 9, 1891.Rueben's parents were William Redd born 1800 in So. Carolina, and Harriett A. (unknown maiden name)born 1808 So. Carolina.Rueben was a private in the Civil War and mustered out of Alabama. In 1860 he was an overseer of a plantation.Theirchildren are as follows:
1. Cornelia , b 1853 Alabama
2. James William, b Jan 1855,Ala.,(wife, Sara Elizabeth Taylor, they had 7 children, then his 2nd wife was a Mrs. Brazier and they had 2 sons)
3. Virginia (Jenny) b 1857 alabama, married Mr. Fifield and lived in Sweeney,Tx
4. Rueben Jr. b 1860 alabama, (this is probably the child that was dropped in the cotton gin and died)
5. Tom
6. Nancy Mandana (Dana) b oct 26, 1865 Macon Co Alabama, married to Mr Sullivan then to John Jay Hall
7. Jeff Davis b Ala, married clara Levenia Martin and had one daughter (ellen redd bostick)
8. Edwin Levi b Nov 25, 1870 Ala, married Lillian Maybell Webster (these are my great grandparents).
The lady who sent this info originally in 1994 is Rebecca Redd Roane , 17502 Poppy Trails Lane

I have never corresponded with her. As I said I have just now started trying to research the Redds.
Please let me hear from you and maybe together we can piece this together.
