Notification of your posting came to me, so I sent Theresa an e-mail alerting her to your message. Your discoveries about Rachel are very interesting. I did not know when Rachel died and do not know the names of her children. The idea that she had a third husband is certainly news to me. It all fits together nicely, though, location-wise.

You may already know this, but my Joseph Redd's (brother of Rachel) widow Mary Redd, took her 10 children to Wayne Co, OH and was still there in 1830. There was also an Andrew Redd (relationship unknown) there. There were also Zooks/Sooks in Wayne Co., as well as the other Everlys you point out.(sort of a German community?) Most of Mary/Joseph Redd's Children went to Cass Co., IN around 1830 and she herself went with the remaining children in about 1832. Her son Daniel was a cabinetmaker in Logansport and went back to Wayne Co., OH just long enough to get a bride (Elizabeth Zook) in 1835. So I guess I'm thinking it isn't surprising that Rachel would end up in Logansport. Joseph Redd's widow, Mary, is buried in a small cemetery near Logansport -- maybe Rachel Basey is, too?

It all adds up now that you have found the marriage record, but what in the world ever caused you to look in Cass Co. in the first place?

I have a scan of a very early fancy printed certificate showing all 15 children of Nathaniel Redd/Barbara Sook. Also a 1929 typewritten paper that shows the second marriage of Rachel(but not the third). Would you be interested in those?

Who was the guardian of Rachel's minor children?
