John Redd, born 1820, SC married about 1842 to Elizabeth born 1820 SC. They had 14 children born in SC, Wesley 1844, Sarah 1845, Martin 1848, Chesley 1848, John 1850, Basford 28 Jan 1852, Sarilda 1854, Britt 1856, Martha 1857, Franklin 1858, John 1859, Mary 1861, Kezia 1863, Doc 1865.

Cannot find the John Redd family in the 1850 census. John is listed in the 1860 Barnwell County Census (John Read), the 1870 Edgefield County Census (John Redd) and the 1880 Aiken County Census (John Red). Listed one entry away in the 1860 census is G. B. Read 42, his wife Allifair 41 and seven children. Believe they may be relatives but cannot make the connection.

Would like to connect John Redd, born 1820 to his fatherís family. He just doesnít seem to fit anywhere.

Basford Redd is the line I am working on. About 1850 Basford brought his family to Dallas, Texas where they worked in the cotton mills, then moved to Grayson County to the cotton mills and then back to Dallas.
