Looking through old Redd queries and saw Norman Tarter commenting. My husband's grandmother was Lena Lincoln TARTER who was b. in Ky and m. Harry REDD. They came to SE Kansas and lived in Columbus, Ks and Miami, Ok. Harry's father was Wiley Hatton Redd and his father was J.D. Redd.

Lena was named for the Lincoln family. It is reported that either she or her mother, dependingon the dates, was a cousin or playmate of Mary Todd who m. Abe Lincoln. She said Mary was a brat and mean when she was little.

Are there other Redd and Tarter connections?
