My Grandfather was John Walter b1884 lived Halstead.

Great Grandfather was John b1856, brother George (no details) and an Alfred, otherwise all sisters.

Great Great Grandfather was Henry b1826/7 (sepculative) married Emma Abrams 1849. Had brothers George and John (no further details). Also has sisters Many Ann and Sarah.

Possible link is if your father was Frederick Charles, brother of John Walter b.(late 1800's speculative).

My parents originate from Halstead-Father and Gt Yeldham-Mother (maiden name Turner).

I lived for the first 11 years of my childhood in Halstead and Gt Yeldham.
There were Rultons' living in Yeldham, well known local name.
I recall the Rultons
