I saw your query of June 2000.My father is from Amisk, and we have copies of some pages from the old Amisk Advocate papers.This is the obituary for the mother of Bertha Johnson Redington.

Death of Mrs. A.M. Johnson
Mrs. Annie Mary Johnson passed away on Wednesday afternoon Nov. 6 at her home near Amisk, and at the time of her death had attained the age of 77 yrs. 11 mos., and 19 days.She had been an invalid for a number of years, suffering with articular rheumatism.Mrs. Johnson was born in
Norway on Nov. 17, 1862, and lived for 33 years at her home here in Alberta.She was predeceased by her husband and son in 1918 and another son, Albert in 1936.She leaves to mourn her sad loss four daughters
-Mrs. A. Holte, Mrs. C. Redington and Julia, all of Amisk, and Agnes of Lougheed and three sons -Johnny of Mallagg, Henry of Lea Park, and Thorval at home.Funeral services were held in the Norwegian Lutheran church on Nov. 9 at 2 p.m. with Rev. E. Egedahl officiating.Interment took place in the Norwegian cemetery.The people of Amisk and community
