Diane,
Thanks for your message!Especially, thanks for setting the burial location of the Redington's straight.I have LOTS of info on Nathaniel's pedigree, if you are interested, but I'll have to get my database set up again--changed machines, etc. etc. :)
Here's what I remember, though:
Nathaniel Redington, Jr., son of Nathaniel Redington and Mary (Polly) Griswold.Nathaniel Sr. is the son of Eliphalet Redington, son of Jacob Redington, son of Daniel Redington, son of John Redington, who came from England in the mid 1600's and settled in Massachusetts. The pedigree continues back to the 1400's, but I can't remember it offhand. :)
If you are interested in all the details, let me know and I can e-mail you a GEDCOM or something.
Regarding Caroline Salmon (is it Salmon, or Salmond?I have seen both spellings, but Salmon seemed more common), I, too, have seen the census record stating she was born in NY.Also -- an interesting fact:Nathaniel Jr.'s sister Phebe (Phoebe) married Luther Salmon...I have not been able to determine if Luther and Caroline were siblings or not, however, but it would seem likely that siblings from one family would marry siblings of another, especially since Nathaniel and Caroline had a son that they named Luther (from whom I am descended).
Anyway, enough unfounded suppositions for one day, I guess. :)Thanks again for the message!
- Jamis
