Bit of a late reply I know but I saw my name mentioned and thought I`d put in my twopennyworth.
If your William was born in Harlow then it is pretty likely he is one of the Redington family that started out in Hunsdon, Herts and spread to north west Essex. There is a probable Ireland, Galway connection a bit further back. Thomas Redington was born in Hunsdon in the early 1600`s and went to Ireland with Cromwell. Two of his younger brothers went to America, around 1638, their descendants are well documented. Others extended the family land interests in Essex, particularly in Magdalen Laver.
