Just saw your forum post from 2000--just four years too late!:o) George William Redington was born in Cerro Gordo County, Iowa 7-22-1858, married 1883 in Devils Lake ND to my great great grandmother Oline (Olena) Rud.She had my great grandmother Olava from a previous relationship, then married George and had children with him.George died 11-1-1938 and Olena died in 12-52, buried at Amisk.Olava married Matthew Anholt and at the Anholt Family Reunion in Amisk in July this year one of my uncles brought a photo to show everyone of George, Olena, and their 3 children--given him by a grandson of Charles Arthur. The funny thing is that my uncle is a doctor in Edmonton and this Redington grandson was a patient of his! That's how they met--small world, huh!Are you a relative of Charles Arthur Redington??
I just was doing some hunting on George's family and found him in censuses in Iowa for 1860, 1880.
George's parents were William and Augusta Redington.Census says Wm born NY and Augusta born MI.A younger sister Sarah is listed, also born in Iowa. The 1880 census shows several more siblings. There were other Redingtons in the same township and county so must be related.A Martin Redington, also born NY, with a large family..Martin is possibly a brother of George, especially since George named a son Martin. An older couple is nearby, Hiram and Christiana Redington, just the right age to be parents of either George, Martin or both. They also were born in NY.
George Redington is not related to me by blood, but his children with Olena certainly are.
Hope this msg gets thru to you!
