BRIDGET REDINGTON/REDDINGTON (1841-1908) OF CASTLEBAR
Bridget was born in Castlebar (Irish: Caislean an Bharraugh), an urban district which is the county seat of County Mayo, Ireland, in 1841.Her parents' names are unknown, and nothing is known about any brothers or sisters.
Bridget emigrated to the United States at the age of 15, in 1856, and probably worked as a domestic servant in return for her passage. Her grandson Donald McLaughlin said Bridget first settled in Shannon, a small town south of Freeport in Carroll County, Illinois, and she probably met her future husband there.
She had moved to Rockford, Illinois by 1859 and there married Dennis McLoughlin/McLaughlin (1831-1893), an immigrant from King's County (Offaly), in 1860.They had 10 children.
Bridget died March 25, 1908, at the age of 67, of a brain tumor.
