HI, KAREN ,ITS DON .

I LIVED IN REDNERSVILLE,ONTARIO IN CANADA.SOME OF THE REDNER'S CAME FROM THE U.S. AND MOVED UP TO CANADA. THERE ARE CURRENTLY MANY REDNER'S LIVING IN THE BELLEVILLE/REDNERSVILLE AREA. THERE IS ALSO A BOOK ABOUT THE REDNERS ,I'LL GIVE YOU A BRIEF HISTORY. QUEEN ELIZABETH I, GAVE REFUGE TO SOME REDNER'S WHO WERE LIVING IN ENGLAND DURING THE WAR - WHICH WAS FREE PASSAGE TO NORTH AMERICA. ALSO, THE REDNER NAME WAS CHANGED FROM, I BELIEVE IT WAS SPELLED REDNOUER, WHEN THEN LANDED IN NORTH AMERICA. IT IS SAID THAT SOME MOVED TO NORTHERN U.S., the PHILADELPHIA AREA AND THE NEW ENGLAND STATES. MANY OF THOSE REDNER'S WERE LOYALISTS AND MOVED TO CANADA. HENCE, THE TOWN REDNERSVILLE BECAME ESTABLISHED IN ABOUT 1756. MY GREAT GREAT GRANDFATHER BUILT AND OWNED THE OLDEST DWELLING IN ONTARIO WHICH IS CURRENTLY KNOWN AS THE 'REDNERSVILLE GENERAL STORE'. I HAVE SEEN A PICTURE OF THE STORE ON THE INTERNET, I BELIEVE IT WAS EITHER UNDER BELLEVILLE OR REDNERSVILLE. YOU MAY FIND THIS SITE INTERESTING. I WOULD ALSO LIKE TO MENTION THAT ON VICTORIA DAY WE HAVE A HUGE REDNER REUNION EVERY YEAR. ALL REDNERS ARE WELCOME, AND IT IS HELD AT MY GRANDFATHERS HOUSE/FARM. THE HOUSE IS ALSO QUITE FASCINATING BECAUSE IT WAS BUILT AT THE SAME TIME AS THE REDNERSVILLE STORE. IN MY GRANDFATHER'S VESTIBULE HANGING ON THE WALL IS THE ORIGINAL DEED FROM THE QUEEN FOR THE LAND (thousands of acres) THAT MY FAMILY INHERITED. IT WILL BE FUN TO KEEP IN TOUCH WITH YOU, IT IS HIGHLY POSSIBLE THAT WE ARE RELATED. MAYBE WE CAN FIND OUT MORE, DO YOU HAVE ACCESS TO OTHER SURNAMES AND FIRST NAMES OF YOUR RELATIVES? TAKE CARE, WILL CHAT WITH YOU MORE SOON. SINCERELY,
DON AND CHRISTINE MACKAY
