Well, we've stirred up some info from an aunt.... My Gibney gr-gr-grandparents had land c. 1860 in Orange Cty., NY, somewhere near the road from Highland Falls to Central Valley. Great-Aunt Hannah Gibney "married the hired man, John Redner, and they gradually acquired all of the Gibney lands around Popolopen Lake." Some of the land was taken by the US to expand West Point recreation areas. Some land "was sold by the Redners to a "Julian" who turned the clapboard family homestead into a stone road-house." That's all for now.
