Martha Jane Redwine lived in Clinton County, Indiana most of her life.
In 1850, Frederick Redwine family lived in Lauramie Twp, Tippecanoe Co, IN.
Martha's mother Elizabeth (Roush)Butler Redwine died January 30,1853.
Elizabeth's father John Roush was given guardianship of the four girls Mary Ann, Martha J., Sarah Frances, and Caroline Sareldy, minor heirs of Eliz. Redwine.Filed 7 Feb 1853.
Their father Frederick Redwine was still living but he for some reason did not get guardianship of the girls. It was always assumed that Frederick got to keep the boys, James Redwine and his step-son Henry Butler.
By 1860, the girls were living with different families.
Martha was living with her uncle John Roush and aunt Margaret in Tippecanoe Co., IN.
Sometime between 1860 and 1863, she supposedly lived with John and Anna Huffer as their housekeeper in Clinton Co, IN near Michigantown. After Anna died, Martha married John Huffer on Dec 22, 1863. They had 7 children, only 2 of the children Sarah and Frederick Huffer lived to have families of their own.John Huffer died Feb 17, 1878.Martha then married an irishman Daniel Ray on April 25, 1879 and had 4 children with him.She lived in the Michigantown area most of her married life.Martha died in 1926.
