Jacob, James, Joel, George, Owen REED(E)
I found an:
Jacob
Owen
George
James
and Joel
in the 1840 Census for Cass county Georgia. My GGG grandfather was named Owen C. Reed and is listed as being in the 1850 census but with his mother, Malinda Griswold. He also had a brother named James. (and other siblings named, Andrew, Mary, Martha and Malinda)
I'm not sure how, but I am pretty sure those I named above are somehow related to my Reed family but I have not found anything linking them.
My ggg grandfather Owen, went on to have a son who was also named George .. which makes me even more sure that they're related to the stated above.I was not able to find George, James, Owen, Joel or Jacob in the 1850 census.. and I am unsure of My Owen's fathers name. His mother had remarried a man by the last name of Griswold by the 1850 Cass County census.
I have found no one even searching for the same family.. surely there is someone out there. My ggg grandfather Owen Reed was a confederate soldier in the Civil war, he was a POW in the Battle of Vicksburg, he married his wife Sarah Runyan in Indiana.. and they later moved to Arkansas in 1880, then at some time lived in Texas where my gg grandmother was born. and Owen Reed later moved to Oklahoma where he is buried.
If you have any info please linking these Reed Families.. please email me at [email protected]
Thanks.
