Hi Tom,

So it's been about 2 years since you posted the message, but since there haven't been any replies I'm going to assume it's still a mystery.

I'm a descendant of John Horsburgh, the older brother of the William Reekie Horsburgh mentioned in your message. I've only been doing the genealogy thing for about a month but from what I've found, William's grandmother was named Agnes Reekie, who had an illegitamite child with James Horsburgh.

If you are a descendant of James Horsburgh and Janet Denholm, you might be interested in the Barton/Stedman line, which can be traced to the 1100's.
