REES, Anton born in Baden-Baden, GERMANY

My great-grandmother was Mary Magdalena Resz (pronounced Reece), who was born in Canton, Ohio, on April 14, 1849, lived most of her life around Wheatland, Missouri (Hickory County), and died at her daughter's house in Caney, Kansas, on June 16, 1915. I was struck by the similarities in names between your ancestors and mine, and thought that one of their 7 children might be Mary Magdalena, based on the mother's name.I also thought that the way my great-grandmother spelled her name and where she was born might be of interest. She was of German backgound, although I have not been able to find her parents yet - I am looking, though! She spoke German fluently and very little English from what I have researched, and went by the name "Lena", a name which has become a family name throughout the generations, although "Magdalena" was lost. I have wondered why she spoke German and not English when she was born in Ohio, and figure that her parents were immigrants who spoke no English, and that she was born soon after they immigrated. This might link her to your ancestor in some way. Please let me know if you have found a Mary Magdalena with the dates mentioned above. Thank you!
