My grandfather, Dan Reidenbach and his siblings refused to pronounce their name any other way than"Reidenbaugh", leaving the "ch" silent. Accordingly, they claim their father David, b. Missouri or Ohio, 1850-1912, taught them that way. We always heard family stories that the original was spelled reidenbach but when they immigrated, reidenbach was mis-spelled.
