Can't help you on Samuel but my grandmother was Katherine Reifschneider married to David Beltz around 1904/5 in Kutter, Russia (near Saratov/Engel) close to the Volga River hence they are called "Volga Deutscher". They immigrated to USA in 1905/6 and came through Galveston, TX.
Katherine died October 28, 1938 in Cherokee, OK from smoke inhalation from a kettle boiled dry on her stove.
Of their six children, only two remain: my uncle Ben (97) and one aunt Esther (93).
Esther has been more involved tracing our ancestors and might have information on the Reifschneiders. I know my Dad attended a Reifschneider reunion in Wisconsin probably 20 years ago. There's a lot of them around.
