I am trying to find out more about Col. Joseph M. Feger. Here's what I've got:

Col. Joseph M. FEGER born abt 1828 in PA, died before 1918
According to two local histories he was a prothonotary for Schuylkill County in 1863. He kept the White Horse Tavern in Pottsville sometime between 1856 and 1880, he was the first landlord of the Mt. Carmel Hotel, Northumberland County in 1855, by 1880 he had a hotel on Arch Street in Philadelphia called the St. Elmo Hotel.
His wife's name was Deborah M. (don't have surname) and was born about 1827.
Their children were:
Edwin C. Feger born abt. 1850 (at the 1880 census he was a clerk in his father's hotel in Phila.)
Lauretta Julia (called Dolly) born 1856, died 1918 (my gg-grandmother). She married Frank P. Kendrick
Rachel E. born about 1861
Augusta E. born about 1864

I got the names of Edwin, Rachel and Augusta from the 1880 census and the birth years are estimated from their ages at that census. I know nothing more about them.

I have found information about other FEGERs - inlcuding a Hiram Feger and another Joseph Feger - in the area (I think Northumberland County) but do not know if there is a link.

Please let me know if you have any information on these individuals. I'd really appreciate it!

Faith
