Hi Kathleen, My Reimer family immigrated from Russia in 1876, but were originally from Germany. They settled in the Grenau-Maripol district in the early 1800's. My father claimed to be Jewish and that the family left Russia because of persecution and the Russians conscripting their sons into the Army. Would like to hear from you. Do you know where in Germany your ancestors lived? sara
