Mariam REMSEN (1756-1838)-Dutchess/Ulster Co.N.Y.
I am seeking the direct paternal/maternal ancestry (parents, grandparents etc.) back to the immigrant ancestors for a Mariam REMSEM. She was b. ca. 1756 probably in Dutchess Co., N.Y. She d. ca. 1838 in Drybrook, Ulster Co., N.Y. Family lore says that "she was a little Dutch girl from Dutchess Co., N.Y."In doing research the original name of the REMSEN family was VANDERBEEK (Van BECK).The REMSEN family was from Long Island, N.Y. and Fishkill, Dutchess Co., N.Y.Mariam married Joseph Haynes (1743-1810). This was Joseph's second wife. The name "Polly" was also written as Mariam's first name in the recorded land deeds. Their children were: Judson, Clement, Nancy, Drew, William, Betty, Polly, Seneca, Martha, and Joseph. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!Joe
