Hi Charles, I'm not related but I happened to get the History of Remsen out of the library.
I was wondering if you've seen the information on the Remsen Family included in "History of Remsen, NY" by Millard F. Roberts. (Remsen is in Oneida Co.)
I says the origional cognomen was Van Der Beeck from Germany and Netherlands. It mentions Rem Jansen and Janetie Rapalie.
Let me know if your interested and I'll extract more.
