MY GRANDFATHER WAS A JOHN THOMAS ...BORN IN 1856, SENT TO MERCHANT SEAMANS ORPHANAGE IN BERMONDSEY,(near LOndon) IN 1866, SHIPPED OUT AS A CABIN BOY IN 1871 AND DISCHARGED FROM ENG. MER MARINE IN 1881 IN TACOMA WA. HE HAD ONE SISTER A SUSAN (LUNNAN???) ANY TIES LIKELY???????
