There are some similar histories in your story. My father's uncle lived in Lincoln, R.I. with his wife Anne, sons Archibald and William, and daughter Anne. They lived just up the street from the Friends Cemetary. Many of my relatives are buried in that cemetary, and those stones which you photographed are undoubtedly of them. The younger Anne and her husband Alfred A. Clare are buried there. Also the younger William Renfrew. I attended both of those funerals. My grandfather, William H. Renfrew was in the Boer War, but his wife (my grandmother) was Mary Miller. They were in Johannesburg, as that is where my father was born. I cannot remember anyone mentioning the Paton name in my family, but I will check to see if indeed there is a connection. I am located now on Cape Cod, Ma., but grew up in Rhode Island.
